Humour goes a long way

Sometimes a smile goes a long way even when it seems the situation is dire.
Although it’s not always appreciated it’s when the negativity is put to one side or faced head on and a bit of fun is added that sometimes the mind can click to deal with the situation. I suppose that is why caricatures, cartoonist, illustrators and more like them have always cropped up at the most dire of moments with their own take on the situation.
They political cartoons have always fascinated me, especially when they relate to current affairs. Since a young age the way illustrations can communicate ideas through the use of satire, depicting something which is likely to hit the headlines has always attracted my attention.
Today seemed like a good day if any when one comment in what was a very serious response by minister over what we expect this summer just made my imagination click.
The idea of social distancing at packed beach just seemed surreal enough to elicit an interpretation through humour.
